RWE Offshore Wind is driving the energy transition. In the OranjeWind project, we are looking for an Operations Engineer Electrical Systems & Innovations to ensure safe, reliable and optimized operation of electrical systems and operational technology (OT), and to support innovative technologies during the first years of operation. This role combines hands-on operational support with technical expertise in electrical systems, SCADA/OT and cyber security, contributing to the performance and continuous improvement of offshore wind assets.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for electrical systems, array cables and communication infrastructure, including TenneT substation interfaces.
- Perform technical analysis (e.g., data and root cause analysis) to evaluate performance, drive continuous improvement and define mitigation measures.
- Support technical risk management, scheduled maintenance and campaign planning for electrical and OT/SCADA systems.
- Develop and maintain spare parts philosophy, inventory and procurement concepts for relevant systems and components.
- Review and follow up on problems, issues and alarms related to electrical systems and OT, including array cable repair plans and readiness.
- Act as technical owner of the maintenance plan for OT and SCADA equipment (e.g., HV SCADA, DTS, ICCP) including lifecycle management and optimization.
- Provide engineering support for IT and OT, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.
- Prepare work requests and RAMS packages for TenneT substation visits and support audits, management reviews and site visits with a focus on OT security.
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, energy technology, industrial automation or a comparable technical discipline, or equivalent proven experience.
- Professional experience with electrical systems in power generation, transmission or industrial environments (preferably offshore wind or substations).
- Solid understanding of SCADA and OT systems, including maintenance planning, lifecycle management and troubleshooting.
- Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis of technical issues, including use of relevant tools and methods.
- Familiarity with technical risk management, maintenance concepts and spare parts strategies in an operational environment.
- Knowledge of OT security and cyber security concepts, ideally in the context of regulatory frameworks such as NIS2/CER.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to coordinate across disciplines and with external stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in an offshore wind environment and to travel for meetings, site visits and offshore campaigns.
- Advantageous, but not essential: experience with offshore wind farm operations, array cable systems and cable repair readiness; experience coordinating or supporting audits and site visits related to OT or cyber security; involvement in OT security communities or cross-site knowledge exchange; experience working in the Dutch regulatory environment.
