Job summary

Pearson Carter is partnering with a well-established international healthcare organisation to recruit an Application Support Engineer. The role focuses on day-to-day support, maintenance, and optimisation of critical business applications in a regulated environment.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, manage incidents, and contribute to upgrades, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This onsite position is based at the Assen office in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Experience in application support within a medium-to-large organisation.
• Practical knowledge of ITIL/ITSM principles, especially Incident/Problem/Change Management.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on onsite support for key business applications, keeping systems stable and compliant.
• Manage administration and maintenance of enterprise applications, including LIMS.
• Investigate incidents via logs, alerts, and user reports, implementing resolution or escalation.
• Handle and progress requests through ITSM platform within SLA.
• Assist with upgrades, releases, and maintenance planning.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and third-party teams to resolve issues.
• Organise patching and validation aligned with security and regulatory needs.
• Support audits by maintaining access reviews and documentation.
• Contribute to root-cause analyses and preventative improvements.
• Participate in projects to enhance IT services.
• Create technical documentation and knowledge articles.
