Job summary

ICC - International Criminal Court in The Hague seeks a Witness Assistant (Individual Contractor) to support witnesses appearing before the Court in the Netherlands. The role involves welcoming witnesses, managing arrival and departure procedures, escort duties, and administering surveys, all while safeguarding confidentiality and working within a team.

The contract is ad hoc/short-term with a daily-rate payment structure.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary education.
Further education in Public Service, Social Work, Nursing or Psychology would be an asset.
Minimum of four years of relevant work experience; advanced or first-level university degree may substitute two years of experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparation activities for arrival of witnesses in the Netherlands.
Provide welcome briefing to witnesses arriving to testify.
Carry out entry/exit procedures of witnesses to and from ICC.
Escort witnesses in ICC premises and during transportation for medical and non-medical visits.
Assist in administering witness surveys and questionnaires.
Maintain accurate administration of witness-related activities.
Monitor vulnerable witnesses 24/7 where applicable; night shifts may be required.
Perform other duties as instructed by Team Leader and VWS Management.
