Job summary

JDE Peet’s in Utrecht is offering a New Product Development Intern position starting in March 2027. You will conduct a self-directed research project on coffee recipe development and support tastings, new recipe development and shelf-life analyses.

You must be enrolled in a master’s program in Food Science or related field, possess strong MS Office skills and excellent English, and commit to five months with four days in-office and one day remotely.

• Strong MS Office skills and fluent English (written and spoken).
• Hands-on experience in food research is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Your key activities will be:

• Experimentation and Optimization: Leading and conducting experiments in the laboratory or pilot plant.
• Data Analysis: Analysing data to identify trends and propose innovative solutions.
• Knowledge Capture: Contributing to knowledge sharing by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and "best practices" for process technology improvement.
• Presentation: Delivering presentations on findings, outcomes, and final project presentations.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Academic Program: You are enrolled in a master’s program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Science, Chemistry or Food technology
• Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands‑on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
• Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from March 2027 to Augustus 2027.
• Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including four days in-office and one day remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.
