Job summary

JDE Peet's in Utrecht offers an R&D Technology Solutions Intern position starting in March 2027. You will perform your own research project related to new ingredients, coffee and process technologies and assist in tastings, pilot plant trials and data analysis.

By joining our team, you will pioneer solutions aligned with sustainability and nutritional excellence. You will gain hands-on experience in a global R&D environment, working five days per week (four in-office and one remote).

Qualifications

• Strong MS Office skills and fluent English written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Experimentation & Optimization: lead and conduct lab or pilot plant experiments to optimize processing methods.
• Technology Implementation: support new technologies and equipment in the pilot line.
• Data Analysis: analyze data to identify trends and propose solutions.
• Knowledge Capture: develop SOPs and best practices for process tech improvement.

Join us as a R&D Technology Solutions Intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht, starting in March 2027. In this internship, you will perform your own research project related to new ingredients, coffee and process technologies and assist in general activities of the team (organizing tastings, supporting pilot plant trials and data analysis). Your key activities will be:

• Experimentation & Optimization: Optimize existing Coffee & Ingredient processing methods by leading and conducting lab or pilot plant experiments.
• Technology Implementation: Support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the pilot line.
• Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends and propose innovative solutions
• Knowledge Capture: Contribute knowledge sharing by the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Best Practices for process technology improvement

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for:

• Academic Program: You are enrolled in a bachelor or master's program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands-on experience with food research activities is always a benefit.
• Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from March 2027 to Augustus 2027.
• Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including four days in-office and one day remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.

• You are either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
