Damen Naval in the Netherlands invites applications for a Process Engineer (Simulation) to advance digital engineering for naval design. You will build and apply mission-based simulation toolchains, combining COTS real-time software with wargaming to produce actionable insights in early design stages.

We seek a candidate with a Master’s degree and hands-on experience in modelling, simulation, and analysis, plus an interest in autonomous and defence technologies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical discipline with 1+ year R&D or engineering experience.
• Experience in early-stage design and concept development.
• Knowledge of modelling, simulation, and analytic techniques for system design.
• Understanding of Mission Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Interest in naval operations and uncrewed systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply Mission Engineering to explore scenarios and support naval design decisions.
• Develop immersive simulation environments using COTS tools and wargaming.
• Enhance simulation toolchains and digital workflows in naval design.
• Drive R&D from idea to proof of concept with prototypes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and specialists.
• Share knowledge and develop colleagues.
