Damen Naval in the Netherlands is seeking a Process Engineer (Simulation) to advance naval vessel design through mission engineering, simulation, and data analytics. You will help shape early-stage concepts by combining COTS real-time simulations with physical wargaming to gain actionable insights into performance and trade-offs.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in maritime or related field with at least 1 year in R&D/engineering.
• Experience with early-stage design and concept development.
• Knowledge of modelling, simulation, and analytical techniques for system design.
• Understanding of Mission Engineering and/or Systems Engineering with digital design.
• Basic understanding of naval operations, sensors, and command and control systems.
• Experience with programming and rapid prototyping using Python, MATLAB, or Lua.
• Interest in emerging maritime and defence technologies.

Responsabilidades

• Apply Mission Engineering principles to explore operational scenarios and support early naval design decisions.
• Develop immersive simulation environments combining COTS real-time tools and physical wargaming.
• Develop and enhance simulation toolchains and analytical methods for naval design.
• Drive R&D initiatives from idea to proof of concept with prototypes and pilots.
• Explore new technologies and translate developments into practical naval engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients to turn complex challenges into innovative solutions.
• Strengthen digital engineering and Mission Engineering capabilities through knowledge sharing.
