Job summary

Damen Naval in Vlissingen is seeking a Process Engineer (Simulation) to improve engineering and operational processes using advanced simulation and data analytics. You will contribute to early-stage design of naval vessels through mission engineering and digital engineering practices.

The role focuses on integrating COTS real-time simulations with physical wargaming, developing toolchains, and driving innovation in naval engineering. A Master’s degree and hands-on simulation work are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with naval/defence relevance and 1+ year R&D/engineering experience.
• Experience with early-stage design and concept development in naval context.
• Familiarity with modelling, simulation, and data analytics for design space exploration.

Responsibilities

• Apply Mission Engineering to explore operational scenarios and support early naval design decisions.
• Develop immersive simulation environments using COTS tools and physical wargaming concepts.
• Enhance simulation toolchains and digital engineering workflows for naval design processes.
• Drive R&D prototypes and pilot solutions introducing new simulation capabilities.
