Empiric in the Netherlands is seeking a highly skilled Native Mobile Developer to own both iOS and Android apps, focusing on production readiness, release management, and improving a shared codebase. You will drive architecture decisions, lead releases, and work across platform-specific stacks, with responsibilities spanning testing, CI/CD, and SDK adoption in a hybrid Netherlands setting.

Qualifications

• Native mobile development experience on iOS and Android.
• Experience with consumer apps at scale (100k+ active users).
• End-to-end ownership including architecture, releases and production quality.
• Experience taking over and improving an existing codebase.
• iOS: UIKit, Swift, SwiftUI interop, MVVM or Clean, dependency injection, XCTest.
• Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Dagger 2, testing.

Native Mobile Developer - iOS - Android - Swift - UIKit - Netherlands Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced native mobile developer to take responsibility for a consumer app already live at scale. The role covers both iOS and Android, with a focus on production quality, release management and improving a codebase inherited from another team. The iOS app is mainly UIKit with SwiftUI alongside it.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of architecture, releases and production quality across the iOS and Android apps
• Maintain and improve an existing codebase taken over from another team
• Develop and refine modular app architecture on both platforms
• Handle JSON responses where the type of each item varies, using custom Codable decoding on iOS and Moshi on Android
• Maintain automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, including signing and store releases
• Manage App Store phased releases, Play Store staged rollouts and yearly SDK adoption

Key Skills and Experience

• Native mobile development experience, including experience on the primary platform
• At least one consumer app with 100k+ active users, worked on as part of the core app for 1+ year
• Proven end to end ownership as lead developer, covering architecture, releases and production quality
• Experience taking over an existing codebase and demonstrable improvements made to it
• iOS: Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI interop, Swift Concurrency, SPM modular architecture, MVVM or Clean, dependency injection, XCTest or Swift Testing, XCUITest, snapshot testing
• Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, Dagger 2, multi module architecture, R8 shrinking and obfuscation, JUnit, a mocking library, Espresso or Compose testing
• CI/CD, signing and store release management on both platforms
