Job summary

TNO's Naval and Offshore Structures department in the Netherlands seeks a Medior Scientist Unmanned Surface Vessels to analyse and model maritime structures for lightly crewed and unmanned ships. Qualifications

• Requires university degree in a technical discipline with specialization in structural mechanics.
• Substantial relevant work experience (5+ years) with strong theoretical and practical insights into structural behaviour and dynamic response.
• Experience with numerical methods and structural analyses of complex systems.
• Advantage: Lead Engineer experience or experience developing structural engineering plans.
• Affinity with unmanned maritime vessels is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and model maritime structures and systems for future lightly crewed/unmanned platforms.
• Assess effects of military loads and develop protective structural solutions for survivability and safety.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate structural solutions and protection concepts.
• Coordinate research activities and provide technical guidance within projects and programs.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge development within the team.
