Job summary

TNO is seeking a Starter Scientist CFD modeler for military applications to analyze and model maritime structures, focusing on defence. You will use high-fidelity FEM/CFD tools to study explosion and blast-wave effects on structures and survivability, collaborating with experts across disciplines.

You will contribute to publications and client deliverables, working within the Naval and Offshore Structures department and engaging with partners to solve complex challenges in safety and capability.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a technical discipline with CFD specialization.
• Strong theoretical foundation in numerical techniques and high-speed CFD.
• Proficient in Dutch and English, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and model maritime structures for defence applications.
• Assess effects of military loads and blast loading on structures.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and support dissemination of results.
