Job summary

TNO is seeking a Starter Scientist CFD modeler for military applications. You will analyse and model maritime structures to validate innovative, robust solutions under extreme loading, including blast effects, using high-fidelity FEM/CFD tools.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to publications, with opportunities to advance your career within a leading defence-related research environment.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a technical discipline with CFD focus.
• Strong theoretical foundation in numerical techniques for high-speed flows.
• Experience with gas dynamics and shock/blast modelling is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and model maritime structures for Defence applications.
• Validate cutting-edge structural solutions using high-fidelity tools.
• Assess effects of military loads and high-dynamic events (explosions).
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and with clients/partners.
• Contribute to publications and presentations to enhance visibility.
