Job summary

Amgen in Breda is seeking a Senior Engineer (Mechanical system owner) to join a dedicated facilities and engineering team overseeing critical utilities systems. You will contribute to design, installation, and replacement projects to ready the Breda site for future growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, science or related field or equivalent combination.
• Electrical background and low voltage installations familiarity (NEN 3140) – nice to have.
• Knowledge of utilities and building management equipment (HVAC, sprinklers, warehouse systems).
• Willingness to be on call for 24/7 duty (1–2 times per month).
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• System owner responsible for life cycle management of various utility systems (Chiller, HVAC, compressed air).
• Support unplanned maintenance and troubleshoot with the service provider.
• Provide input for maintenance improvements and lead reviews of maintenance jobs.
• Co-lead development of maintenance concepts (PM tasks, responsibilities).
• Lead RCAs and optimizations of maintenance concepts.
• Identify repetitive failure modes and lead corrective actions.
• Lead owner of CMMS (Maximo) - nice to have.
• Work with project managers and Sr. engineers on design and utilities projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints.

The Facilities and Engineering department is responsible for utilities engineering and asset life cycle management for the Breda site. Day tot day maintenance of our systems is outsourced to an integrated service provider. In the role of engineer (system owner) you work in a small, dedicated team of engineers and you will get the opportunity to work with complex utility systems. You will receive specific on the job training, coaching and you will be part of projects for the design and installation of new systems and assets or the replacement of assets to make our Breda site ready for the anticipated future growth and expansion.
Position Specific Tasks:

• System owner - Responsible for the life cycle management of various utility systems (Chiller (required), HVAC, compressed air)


• Support unplanned maintenance and technical issues: troubleshoot and advise the integrated service provider.


• Provide input for general maintenance improvements.


• Lead reviews and optimizations of prepared maintenance jobs.


• Co-lead of development of maintenance concepts (PM tasks, including means and responsibilities)


• Lead RCAs and optimizations of maintenance concepts


• Identify repetitive failure modes and lead actions.


• Lead user/owner of Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) - nice to have


• Work with project managers and Sr. engineers to complete design and utilities systems engineering projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints

Qualifications

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge or the equivalent.
Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, science or related technological field or equivalent combination of education and experience


• Electrical background and some experience in working on low voltage electrical installations and systems (NEN 3140) - nice to have, not mandatory


• Some knowledge of utilities and building management equipment (HVAC, sprinkler installations, and/or warehouse storage systems)


• Availability to be assigned to duty call service (24/7) (1 or 2 times per month)


• Fluent in English, both in oral and written communicatio

Preferred Requirements

• Direct experience with regulated environment (GXP)


• Familiar with project management techniques and managing relationships


• Relevant work experience in operations /manufacturing environment


• Knowledge of (personal) computer software, specifically: CMMS, ERP (preferably SAP), MS office
  Experience in working with different departments and key stake holders in the organization.
  * Familiarity with validation processes and protocols including FAT/SAT/SIT, etc...
  * Experience with building automation and process automation
