Job summary

Trinamics is seeking a Mechanical Expert for Base Engine Development in the Eindhoven region. You will lead hardware development of new engines and maintain existing products, coordinating with multiple internal teams and external suppliers.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical/Automotive degree, have 3+ years in product development, and are proficient in DFSS/DMAIC methodologies, with fluent English and willingness to learn Dutch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical or hardware development within a product development environment.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (DFSS, DMAIC or comparable).
• Automotive knowledge is an advantage.
• Fluent English; willingness to learn Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development of new designs and the improvement of existing ones, together with internal stakeholders from various departments and with external suppliers.
• Translate project goals into product requirements and develop the design in close cooperation with suppliers.
• Lead the required Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) deliverables within your projects.
• Drive problem resolution according to the DMAIC methodology.
• Initiate, coordinate and monitor validation plans and releases in line with project milestones.
• Ensure components meet their requirements in terms of functionality, reliability, quality, robustness and manufacturability.
• Analyse results, prepare detailed technical recommendations and present these to management.

The engineering location in the Eindhoven region is the international centre of competence for engine development, home to a state-of-the-art development centre where complete engine families are designed, tested and released for future emission legislation.

What you'll do

As Mechanical Expert you join the Base Engine team, responsible for the hardware development of new engines and for maintaining products already in production. Your focus is on structural base engine components and complex internal mechanical systems.

You report to the Base Engine Supervisor and manage several projects and priorities in parallel.

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical or hardware development within a product development environment
• Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (DFSS, DMAIC or comparable)
• Automotive knowledge is an advantage
• Fluent English; willingness to learn Dutch
