Job summary

Trinamics supports a global truck manufacturer’s powertrain engineering centre in the Eindhoven region. You join the Engine Wiring Harness group, focusing on hardware development for new engines and aftertreatment, while keeping products aligned with the client’s standards.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, at least five years’ related experience, and proficiency in Saber/Capital Harness and CREO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with electrical harness design and with Saber, Capital Harness or comparable wiring design software.
• Experienced CAD user, preferably CREO.
• Automotive and/or combustion engine knowledge is an advantage.
• Fluent English is required; Dutch is an advantage and willingness to learn Dutch is required.

Responsibilities

• Design new engine components and systems for application in future engine families.
• Work closely with design engineers, mechanical experts, suppliers and production engineering.
• Take ownership of component releases within the agreed timelines, with focus on functionality, reliability, quality, robustness, manufacturability and cost.
• Apply Six Sigma tools and techniques throughout the design process.
• Manage several parallel projects and the priorities that come with them.

Our client is a global manufacturer of heavy-duty commercial vehicles and their powertrains, with engineering and production sites across Europe and North America. Their trucks are among the leading products in the transportation industry, developed with a strong focus on emissions, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The site in the Eindhoven region is the international centre of competence for powertrain development, with a state-of-the art test centre where engine and aftertreatment configurations for future legislation are developed - including hybrid and hydrogen powertrains.

What you'll do

You join the Engine Wiring Harness group, part of the department responsible for the hardware development of new engines and aftertreatment systems and for maintaining products already in production.

• Design new engine components and systems for application in future engine families
• Work closely with design engineers, mechanical experts, suppliers and production engineering
• Take ownership of component releases within the agreed timelines, with focus on functionality, reliability, quality, robustness, manufacturability and cost
• Apply Six Sigma tools and techniques throughout the design process
• Manage several parallel projects and the priorities that come with them

You report to the supervisor of the Externals 2 group and to the Project Lead Engineer.

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience
• Experience with electrical harness design and with Saber, Capital Harness or comparable wiring design software
• Experienced CAD user, preferably CREO
• Automotive and/or combustion engine knowledge is an advantage
• Fluent English is required; Dutch is an advantage and willingness to learn Dutch is required
