Job description

Are you an experienced Operations Manager able to use your ideas and inspiration to contribute to Longfish Leisure’s ambitious growth? In this role you will take full responsibility for managing the production, implementation and maintenance of our unique range of electric rental products for the recreation industry and in doing so help us deliver the most professional rental experiences for our clients.

What we do

Longfish Leisure designs, manufactures and supplies a range of electric boats, replica kids cars and other electric products to holiday resorts, zoos, safari parks, museums and other commercial clients in more than 30 countries around the world. With licence agreements in place with respected brands such as Land Rover and Jeep, we have developed a reputation for supplying high quality realistic and authentic products that withstand the demands of commercial rental whilst providing our clients with an appealing activity for their customers.

We work with our clients on a partnership basis meaning all ongoing maintenance is carried out by our own team of technicians and third party contractors based around the world.

Longfish Leisure is a fast growing organization of around 20 people with an informal yet professional atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to take full responsibility for their work. The pace is high and colleagues work hard but input equals results and you will be able to see the outcome of your efforts immediately.

What will you do:

1. In the position of Operations Manager you will be responsible for our manufacturing and support facility in Wintelre near Eindhoven, ensuring the smooth delivery of our products to clients meaning production through delivery to after sales support.
2. A multi-functional role, it can be grouped into three main areas:
1. As a member of Longfish Leisure’s Management Team, you will take the lead in translating the strategy of Longfish Leisure into tactical plans and be responsible for delivering a critical part of the company strategy as it grows into becoming a global supplier to the recreation industry.
2. You will lead a technical and assembly team based in the Netherlands and Internationally, helping and developing them to work in the most efficient way, sharing knowledge and resources to improve efficiency whilst maintaining high standards of manufacturing and client support.
3. You will lead procurement and ensure that we have strong relationships with key suppliers, as well as an organised and effective parts business.
4. You will manage, organise and improve the team’s efficiency and effectiveness with the help of data coming out of our Exact, Simple Simon, and PowerBi systems.

Who are you?

With at least 5 years of work experience as a manager of operations in a production environment, you are:

1. Comfortable working in a technical environment and will be willing to learn the (basic) technical details of our products so you can manage your production team effectively and support product development initiatives.
2. Analytical and able to support data collection activities to business to provide insightful information on the manufacturing and service side of our business.
3. Structured and organised, able to look ahead and plan all parts of a production cycles (resources, supplier lead times, shipping times etc) as well as direct the activities and priorities of our regional technicians in agreement with our client account managers.
4. Hungry to improve the way the business is running, designing and implementing pragmatic new processes and supporting our product development initiatives.

Able to work with different cultures, you are decisive, stress-resistant and willing to take responsibility for your work and that of your team. A good level of spoken and written English is a must, other languages especially Dutch, French or German are a benefit. Suitable experience including managing a production process and a technical support team are more important than specific qualifications.

The work location is Wintelre, near Eindhoven, where we would expect you to be there typically 3 days per week. Other days will be spent visiting clients, the head office in Amstelveen or working from home. Occasional international travel will be required including overnight stays but this will be for you to manage.

The role is for a minimum of 32 hours per week.
