Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Manager, Data Center Solution Architect to lead a dynamic team in designing scalable data center solutions and guiding opportunities from ground to executive levels. You will collaborate with sales, provide technical pre-sales support, and drive end-to-end POC delivery across global accounts.

The role requires deep expertise in compute, storage, and networking, plus strong communication with diverse clients and cross-functional teams to optimize cost and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 10–12 years of IT experience, especially in compute, storage and/or networking.
• Strong design and diagnostic capabilities; good OS/storage system knowledge.
• Experience communicating with clients and engaging in customer-facing activities.

Responsibilities

• Design data center solutions aligned with customer requirements and scale.
• Collaborate with sales to develop exceptional customer relationships and close deals.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and evangelize Supermicro offerings.
• Develop and review system solutions, respond to RFIs/RFPs, and assist in contract negotiations.
• Deliver end-to-end POCs, visit sites, and ensure solution integration and issue resolution.
• Work cross-functionally to strengthen enterprise client engagement and strategy.
• Become a thought leader on Supermicro AI/ML and data center technologies.

Job Summary

The Manager, Data Center Solution Architect will be part of a growing, dynamic, highly-focused team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. This role will be required to work with customers from ground to executive-level, manage projects hand-in-hand with internal and external teams, and help grow the business whenever possible. Customer and solution focus, are two key factors for this position, as well as business continuity and support. The Data Center Solution Architect Manager must work with multiple departments to ensure new projects and existing projects are initiated or maintained towards customer requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Data Center Solution Design: Collaborate with customers to understand data center requirements and develop comprehensive data center solutions, Design and architect data center infrastructure to meet scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
• Sales Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams to develop superior customer service relationships with prospects, ensuring seamless collaboration to close deals successfully.
• Customer Support: Provide technical pre-sales and occasional post-sales assistance to customers. Enrich the Supermicro offering by evangelizing technology and Supermicro portfolio within customers.
• Develop Bids: Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses and presentations. Respond to RFI, RFP, etc…Work with customers in negotiation of contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness and performance.
• Solution Development: Deliver POC to end-users, and manage POCs end to end. Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution.
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments within the organization to enhance the effectiveness of business strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to enterprise client engagement.
• Thought Leadership: Become a thought leader on Supermicro AI/ML and Deep Learning solutions. Stay current with advancements in GPU and CPU architectures, AI frameworks, and data center technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
• 10-12 years relevant experience within IT, specifically within Compute, Storage, and/or Networking.
• Good solution design and diagnostic skills.
• Familiarity and experience with range of Operating Systems, Storage Software, and/or Network Operating Systems would be beneficial.
• Strong background with compute and storage hardware and architecture.
• Good ability to communicate ideas and solutions to a range of client type.
• Experience with customer-facing engagement.
