Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure continuous production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of equipment, and potential modifications as needed. The role may involve basic mechanical or electrical work as qualified.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the production team, maintaining maintenance records, and training new employees while upholding safety standards and 5S3R practices.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; technician-level education preferred.
  • PLC experience preferred; understanding of production equipment required.
  • 1–7+ years manufacturing experience.
  • Journeyman's certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment and controls to ensure operation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical errors.
  • Provide initial and continuous hands-on training in equipment functions and repairs for new employees.
  • Coordinate with production to schedule preventative maintenance and troubleshooting work.
  • Maintain maintenance records and daily reports.
  • Ensure safe work practices and maintain a clean work site per 5S3R.

Summary:

This position will engage in production equipment maintenance to ensure continuous production, including troubleshooting, regular preventive maintenance plan execution (TPM), and equipment modification. May also be involved with basic mechanical or electrical work as needed and as qualified.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform responsibilities of conducting corrective and preventative maintenance of production equipment and their controls to ensure operation of machinery
  • Troubleshoot causes of mechanical and electrical errors
  • Provide initial and continuous hands-on training in equipment functions, features, and repairs for new employees
  • Communicate directly with the production department to coordinate preventative maintenance and troubleshooting work in production areas
  • Prepare and manage periodic preventative maintenance schedule
  • Keep the records of all preventative maintenance and troubleshooting works
  • Coordinate with outside sources to schedule maintenance for more complex issues
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance related documents of daily report and check sheets
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP's during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Journeyman's certificate or equivalent preferred
Experience:
  • 1-7+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Understanding of production and processing equipment
  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
