Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to evaluate incoming materials and ensure adherence to quality standards. You will perform checks, monitor measurement data, and troubleshoot equipment as part of daily inspection activities.

Candidates should have 1–3+ years in manufacturing or quality roles, with a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus. The role emphasizes safety, 5S3R practices, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Manufacturing or Quality experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Check product and production process for desired quality to specifications.
  • Monitor data from measuring devices.
  • Ensure quality standards are followed.
  • Work with teams and individuals to ensure safety standards are being adhered.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment.
  • Create work orders or instructions as needed.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and report issues if not resolved.
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site per 5S3R standards.

Summary

This role uses analytical equipment and computerized systems to evaluate, and ensure the quality of incoming material. Responsibilities include conducting quality checks, and engaging in trouble-shooting and basic equipment maintenance throughout the inspection process.

Responsibilities
  • Check product and production process for desired quality to specifications
  • Monitor data from measuring devices
  • Ensure quality standards are followed
  • Work with teams and individuals to safety standards are being adhered
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment
  • Create work orders or instructions as needed
  • Engage in troubleshooting and report issues if not resolved
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Follow LGESMI existing cleaning SOP's during downtime (e.g. line stop, waiting time, etc.), which includes cleaning your designated machine and/or surrounding work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours:
    • Safety glasses
    • Steel-toed shoes
    • Cryogenic Gloves
    • Nitrile Gloves
    • Respirator (Clean Shaven)
    • Lab Coat
    • Dry Room Suit
    • Face shield
  • Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours up to 7 days a week:
    • Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
    • Stoop, twist, bend
    • Reach overhead
    • Sit and/or stand
