Job summary

Innovate is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the onsite technical team on a 1-year contract. The role covers preventative maintenance of automated warehouse equipment, diagnosing faults, and keeping conveyors and AutoStore systems running smoothly.

You will work in a small team, with rotating shifts from early morning to late evening, and be the on-site contact for the customer. English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Maintenance Engineering.
• Hands-on mindset with a passion for engineering.
• Experience with preventive maintenance practices.
• Good communication and customer-focused attitude.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Valid driving licence; ability to commute to Barendrecht within ~1 hour.
• Conversational English; Dutch a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician / Onsite Technician / Resident Technician - * 1 year contract *

x2 shift pattern covering 6am to 11pm. 40hour week/5 day. 1 weekend in 5 on rotation.

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician to be part of the onsite technical team, maintaining advanced automated material handling equipment including conveyors and AS/RS / Goods-to-Person systems.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team of six technicians/engineers, working together to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of the engineering team you'll:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on automated warehouse equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Maintain conveyors, AutoStore systems and associated automation equipment
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Escalate complex technical issues to remote specialists where required
• Build positive working relationships with the customer as their on-site engineering contact
• Help ensure equipment is operating safely, reliably and efficiently every day

What We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Maintenance Engineering
• A hands-on approach and a genuine interest in engineering
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices
• Good communication skills with a customer-focused attitude
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word
• Experience working with conveyors, robotics or automated machinery would be beneficial, but is not essential
• A valid driving licence
• Good spoken English, Dutch would be a bonus
• The ability to commute to Barendrecht within approximately one hour

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week
• Mainly rotating two-shift pattern
• Operating hours between 06:00 and 23:00
• Five days per week, including weekends on a rota basis
• Join a team of six dedicated engineers supporting a busy automated operation
