Job summary

FOUR PAWS in the Netherlands (Nijeberkoop) is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician to join our team. You will perform routine inspections of enclosures, buildings, and grounds, carry out preventative maintenance, assist with pools and water systems, and help construct enrichment platforms.

We value hands-on experience in construction or engineering, Dutch as mother tongue, basic IT skills, and a valid Category B license.

Your contribution will be

• Performing routine inspections of animal enclosures, buildings, technical installations, and grounds
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and repair work
• Assisting with maintenance of animal pools and water systems
• Supporting the construction and repair of animal platforms and enrichment items
• Maintaining sanctuary grounds through mowing, weeding and general landscaping
• Keeping maintenance records and inspection logs up to date.

Your profile ideally illustrates

• Relevant experience in technical work, preferably with a focus on carpentry, construction, and installation activities
• Educational background in construction, engineering, or another relevant technical field
• Language skills: native Dutch speaker; proficiency in English is preferred
• Basic IT skills, including the ability to work with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are important
• Willingness to learn and adhere to safety standards and protocols
• Valid Category B driver's license
• Passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS’ vision and mission
