Job summary

Lanza Jobs in Horst is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to motivate a team of technicians and oversee maintenance, improvements, and modernization of technical installations.

You will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to manage day-to-day activities, ensuring safety, efficiency and timely completion of tasks, while actively contributing to site upgrades in an international setting.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a maintenance team leader or similar.
  • Broad background in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Experience in managing and coaching staff.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Supervise renovations of buildings and installations.
  • Contribute to improvements and optimisations.
  • Ensure safety, quality and procedural compliance.
  • Assist with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure site smooth operation.

Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Team Leader with a technical background, who knows how to motivate a team whilst keeping a clear overview? We are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Team Leader for an international organisation in Horst. In this varied role, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians and play an active part in maintaining, improving and modernising technical installations.

What do we offer?
  • A gross monthly salary of between €3,500 and €4,500, depending on knowledge and experience;
  • A full-time position of 38 hours per week;
  • Working hours from Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 16:00 and on Friday from 07:00 to 12:00;

What will you be doing?

As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and ensure that all maintenance work is carried out safely, efficiently and according to schedule. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the maintenance team and will assist with technical tasks yourself where necessary.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of maintenance technicians;
  • Planning, coordinating and carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance;
  • Supervising maintenance, repair and renovation work on buildings and technical installations;
  • Actively contributing to improvement projects and technical optimisations;
  • Ensuring safety, quality and compliance with procedures;
  • Assisting with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry work;
  • Identifying technical issues and implementing structural improvements;
  • Collaborating with colleagues and other departments to ensure the smooth running of the site.
What do you bring to the role?
  • For biosafety reasons, you must not keep rodents (such as mice, rats or guinea pigs) or animals that feed on rodents (such as snakes or birds of prey) as pets;
  • Demonstrable experience as a Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Supervisor, Head of Technical Services or a similar technical management role;
  • A broad technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering;
  • Experience in managing, supervising and coaching staff;
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills;
  • A proactive and independent approach to work;
  • A strong sense of responsibility for safety and quality;
  • Good communication skills in Dutch, English or German;
  • Category B driving licence and your own transport;
  • Willingness to take part in an on‑call rota (1 week in every 4 weeks).
