iMPact Business Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer custom machinery, using SolidWorks and performing FEA/CFD studies. You will develop manufacturable, cost-effective designs and collaborate across teams to ensure proper integration and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, analysis, and close interaction with manufacturing to optimize performance and reliability of equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; associate degree or 3+ years of relevant experience considered.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
• Experience with FEA and CFD tools to test and refine designs.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and design mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and liquid processing systems using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed assembly models, approval prints, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
• Analyze equipment specifications and performance to develop cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
• Assess feasibility of new equipment designs or modifications within space, cost, and time constraints.
• Use FEA/CFD tools to validate designs and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Evaluate field installations and modify designs to improve performance and integration.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to ensure fit, form, and function with adjacent systems.

• Assess the feasibility of new equipment designs or modifications to existing systems, considering constraints like space, cost, and time.
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation) to validate designs.
• Evaluate field installations, making design modifications to improve performance and integration.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and regulations (e.g., ANSI, OSHA).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to evaluate fit, form, and function of equipment relative to adjacent systems and components.
