Introduction to the Job

Do you have proven experience in the semiconductor industry and proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer? Are you passionate about precision mechanics, motion control, and developing high-performance systems with cutting-edge technology?

Within our Mechanical Development department, we focus on the design of high-speed, high-acceleration, high-precision mechatronic modules for wafer positioning and handling — a core element in our lithography systems.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your main responsibility is to define, design, and realize complex mechanical functions within our mechatronic modules. Your work will revolve around linear stage and actuator design, combining motion control principles with precision engineering to achieve nanometer-level accuracy at extreme dynamics.

Key tasks include:

• Designing solutions for high-performance modules involving high accelerations, high velocities, and sub-micron positioning accuracy.
• Working closely with architects, lead engineers, and other specialists to develop innovative and manufacturable designs.
• Translating system-level specifications into feasible mechanical concepts and technical solutions.
• Continuously improving the design quality and robustness of mechatronic subsystems using precision design principles.
• Creating and reviewing detailed 3D CAD models (NX preferred), technical drawings, and documentation.
• Supporting integration, testing, and troubleshooting during module assembly and system-level validation.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant semiconductor / machine building industry experience.
• Proven experience in the design of precision mechanical parts and high-speed mechatronic modules.
• Strong background in linear actuators, motion systems, and high-dynamic mechanical structures.
• Proficient in 3D CAD. Preferably Siemens NX.
