Job summary

Middle Point seeks a Designer / Draftsman in the Mechanical Engineering department to design and develop the mechanical systems of luxury yachts. You will translate design plans into clear drawings for Production.

The role requires 4+ years in yacht/shipbuilding, strong AutoCAD/Catia/Rhino skills, and fluent English. You will collaborate across disciplines, maintain schedules, and support relocation and expat tax advantages.

Qualifications

• EU citizenship is required for this position.
• BSc / MSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant study.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Yacht / Shipbuilding.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (Catia, Rhino).
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• Able to work independently and flexibly while keeping to project schedules.
• Communicative, collaborative and confident within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing mechanical systems for luxury yachts, including ventilation, heating, hydraulic and sanitary installations.
• Creating piping layouts, piping diagrams and system routing based on the design plan.
• Drawing panels and other mechanical components and arranging technical spaces.
• Producing clear and detailed working drawings for the Production department.
• Working with AutoCAD and specialist 2D and 3D design software.
• Collaborating closely with the Project Leader, Production Engineer and other engineering disciplines throughout the full yacht build cycle.
