Job summary

Van Storm Recruitment seeks a Yacht Design Engineer (Mechanical Systems) to translate system concepts into detailed 3D output for installation onboard luxury yachts in the 60–70 metre segment. You will work with CATIA on integrated marine systems including cooling, fuel, exhaust, and water systems.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Maritime Technology or related field.
• 2+ years in yachtbuilding or shipbuilding mechanical/system design.
• Experience with CATIA; Siemens NX acceptable.
• Strong understanding of marine piping, ventilation, cooling, fuel, exhaust systems.
• Good command of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models and drawings for onboard mechanical systems.
• Translate system designs into construction-ready engineering documentation.
• Use CATIA to create parametric models for efficient manufacturing and installation.
• Design and integrate cooling, fuel, exhaust, ventilation, and water systems.
• Ensure routing and accessibility of components within constrained spaces (engine room).
• Ensure compliance with shipbuilding standards, class requirements and internal standards.
• Collaborate with production and other disciplines to resolve clashes and improve buildability.
• Deliver clear, practical engineering output to support efficient installation.
• Work across multiple systems rather than a single discipline.
