Job summary

Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, a five-star luxury hotel in the heart of Amsterdam, seeks an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead the Housekeeping department and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and guest comfort. You will report to the Director of Operations and shape daily operations and strategic quality improvements.

You will manage payroll, budgets and external partners, ensuring staff development and flawless guest experiences in a prestigious setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a senior Housekeeping management position within a luxury environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach and develop a diverse team.
• Proven experience managing external partners and service providers within a hospitality environment.
• Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail and quality.
• Experience working with LQA or similar luxury service standards is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, payroll management, budgeting and cost control.
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
• A proactive, solution-oriented and trustworthy leader who enjoys working in a dynamic luxury hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and developing the Housekeeping team, creating a positive and professional working environment.
• Managing payroll costs and operational expenses while balancing quality standards, ensuring labour productivity targets are achieved and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Managing the collaboration with external housekeeping partners, contractors and service providers, ensuring clear communication, alignment with hotel standards and excellent service delivery.
• Maintaining and improving quality standards according to LQA and brand expectations.
• Conducting inspections and following up on quality improvements and guest feedback.
• Managing housekeeping budgets, inventory, supplies, amenities and uniforms.
• Overseeing linen room operations, including linen availability, organisation and inventory control.
• Collaborating closely with other hotel departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, hygiene and sustainability standards.
