Job summary

Axces Group in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of our industrial exhaust systems end to end, including silencers and SCR reactors, from customer spec to production handover.

You will work with acoustic, CFD and project engineers, apply PED/ASME, produce fabrication drawings, and ensure designs meet noise, back-pressure and flow budgets while enabling reliable manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing welded steel equipment, ideally pressure equipment, heat exchangers, silencers or process skids.
• Fluency in a 3D CAD package (SolidWorks or Inventor) and confidence reading and producing fabrication drawings.
• Working knowledge of PED / ASME and welded-structure design; FEA experience is a strong plus.
• A practical, manufacturing-aware mindset: you design things that are good to build, not just good on screen.
• Professional English; Dutch is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of silencers, SCR reactors and combined exhaust packages, from concept through detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings.
• Size pressure-bearing components and steel structures, and verify them against codes (PED 2014/68/EU, ASME, EN 1090).
• Run and interpret FEA on critical components: thermal expansion, vibration, lifting and transport load cases.
• Collaborate with acoustic and CFD engineers to meet noise, back-pressure and flow budgets.
• Specify materials, weld details and surface treatment for high-temperature, corrosive exhaust environments.
• Produce manufacturing and inspection documentation, and support production through fabrication and commissioning.
