Job summary

Green Energy Storage B.V. is expanding its engineering team and this role is based at our BESS headquarters in Breda.

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to own the technical scope from design through construction and commissioning on some of the largest Dutch BESS projects, setting engineering standards for our growing portfolio. You will coordinate with BoP, HV, grid, and control systems, review Tier‑1 designs, support permits and variations, ensure safety and reliability, and hand over complete

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in energy, high‑voltage, or industrial infrastructure projects, including a senior or lead role during design and construction.
• Solid knowledge of electrical systems and medium‑ and high‑voltage grid connections; experience with BESS or renewable energy projects is a strong advantage.
• Proven track record reviewing contractor and supplier designs against specifications and grid codes; experience with EPC contractors; proficient with AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel between sites, suppliers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical requirements, design basis, and specifications of the project; lead design reviews of diagrams and layouts.
• Manage interfaces between BESS, BoP, high‑voltage, and grid connection scopes; coordinate with grid operator on grid code compliance.
• Provide input for environmental permits, tender documents, bid evaluations, and variation assessments.
• Safeguard quality and safety in design and execution, including FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Guide the project from design into construction and ensure handover to operations with complete as‑built documentation.
• Stay updated on battery technology and grid connections; translate lessons into design standards and coach engineers.
