Job summary

Park Plaza Utrecht is hiring a Steward/Afwasser to maintain high cleanliness standards across kitchens and back-of-house areas. You will support the kitchen team, uphold hygiene and safety, and help create a welcoming environment for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities include cleaning china and utensils, deep-cleaning kitchen areas, reporting safety concerns, and communicating effectively with the team. English fluency and Dutch work eligibility are required.

As a Steward/Afwasser, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout our kitchens and back-of-house areas. Working closely with the kitchen team, you will play a key role in supporting efficient operations and creating a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain china, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, and chefs' equipment to the highest standards
• Carry out dishwashing and deep-cleaning duties for kitchen machinery, kitchen areas, storage facilities, and back-of-house colleague areas
• Ensure all cleaning activities are completed in accordance with hygiene, HACCP, Health & Safety, and company standards
• Support the kitchen and Food & Beverage teams by maintaining clean, organised, and safe working environments
• Report maintenance issues, incidents, accidents, and safety concerns while following company procedures and guidelines
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and efficient team environment

Essential Requirements

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience in a Steward, Kitchen Porter, Cleaning, or Hospitality Support role
• Basic knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and cleaning procedures
• Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment
• Interest in developing a career in hospitality or becoming a Chef in the future
