PPHE Hotel Group is seeking a Kitchen Steward / Afwasser at Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport to maintain cleanliness in our kitchens and back‑of‑house areas. This flexible 0‑hour role supports the kitchen team, handles dishwashing, and ensures a safe, organized environment for guests and colleagues.

The position is ideal for students or those seeking extra work, with shifts including evenings and weekends. English communication is required and eligibility to work in the Netherlands is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Steward/Porter or hospitality support preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP and cleaning procedures.
• Experience in hotel, restaurant or catering environment.
• Interest in pursuing a hospitality career.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain china, glassware, silverware, and kitchen equipment to high standards.
• Dishwashing and deep-cleaning duties for kitchen areas and equipment.
• Ensure hygiene and safety standards (HACCP, Health & Safety) are met.
• Support kitchen and F&B teams by maintaining clean, safe environments.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns per company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team.
• Demonstrate a willing, proactive attitude and attention to detail.
• Work flexibly across shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Location: Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport, Netherlands

Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport is located just 10 minutes from Schiphol Airport and offers a free shuttle service for both guests and team members. With 342 rooms and extensive meeting and event facilities, no two days are ever the same.

As a Kitchen Steward / Afwasser, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout our kitchens and back-of-house areas. Working closely with the kitchen team, you will play a key role in supporting efficient operations and creating a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues.

This flexible 0-hour position is ideal for students, hospitality starters, or anyone looking for an extra job alongside their studies, family commitments, or other work.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain china, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, and chefs' equipment to the highest standards.
• Carry out dishwashing and deep-cleaning duties for kitchen machinery, kitchen areas, storage facilities, and back-of-house colleague areas.
• Ensure all cleaning activities are completed in accordance with hygiene, HACCP, Health & Safety, and company standards.
• Support the kitchen and Food & Beverage teams by maintaining clean, organised, and safe working environments.
• Report maintenance issues, incidents, accidents, and safety concerns while following company procedures and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and efficient team environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience in a Steward, Kitchen Porter, Cleaning, or Hospitality Support role.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and cleaning procedures.
• Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
• Interest in developing a career in hospitality or becoming a Chef in the future.
