Kathmandu Kitchen started in 2013 with 1 location in Amsterdam. At the moment there are 5 locations. Our menu features dishes from authentic Indian and Nepalese cuisine. We strive to serve our guests with delicious flavours of Nepalese, Indian curry, and tandoori.

Job Description And Tasks

• Independent chef for preparing Indian dishes
• Location: Kathmandu Kitchen Beverwijk, Begijnenstraat 4, 1941 BS Beverwijk
• Employment type: Full-time job / 38 hours per week
• Salary indication: €2517 gross per month excluding holiday pay.
• Catering Industry CAO compliant employment conditions
• Perform preparatory work such as washing, cutting, (pre) cooking, mixing, stirring, etc.
• Assess the quality of products/ingredients to be used (freshness, shelf life, etc.) and prepare tools
• Execute preparations, monitor/ control quality, doneness, taste, colour, fluidity, etc., and make adjustments/additions
• Make orders ready to serve by performing à la minute cooking tasks, portioning, and garnishing
• Supervise the work of assistants, provide guidance and instructions
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, Occupational Health and Safety, HACCP, and work and presentation methods (house style)

Knowledge And Skills

• MBO level 3 work and thinking level
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Knowledge of products/ingredients and the composition of the menu
• Languages: Dutch or English
