Job summary

Mileway is seeking a Junior / Associate Asset Manager for Amsterdam to help manage a defined portfolio of last‑mile logistics properties and contribute to broader asset strategies. Qualifications

  • A university degree in real estate, finance, economics, business, law, engineering or another relevant commercial or technical discipline.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience within commercial real estate, asset management, investment, valuation, leasing, property management or a related field.
  • Interest in last-mile logistics and industrial real estate with motivation to learn the market, assets and occupiers.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence in working with financial and property-related data.
  • Commercial mindset with ability to identify opportunities to improve asset performance and create value.
  • Ability to take responsibility for a portfolio of assets, knowing when to seek support from senior colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with willingness to contribute ideas and take ownership.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of asset strategies and business plans for your portfolio.
  • Manage and support lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease surrenders and other commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiate commercial lease terms alongside senior colleagues and support converting terms into contractual agreements.
  • Build strong relationships with occupiers, understanding their businesses, property requirements and future plans.
  • Monitor the financial and operational performance of the portfolio and identify opportunities to improve income, occupancy and asset value.
  • Track portfolio risks, identify warning signs and escalate issues to senior colleagues.
  • Carry out market research and contribute market intelligence to asset and leasing strategies.
  • Prepare financial analyses, property budgets, forecasts, reports and other materials for business decisions.
  • Support underwriting, business planning and portfolio performance analysis.
  • Lead or support marketing of vacant units, coordinate with leasing agents, review proposals and attend property viewings.
  • Work with Technical Property Management to ensure capex projects and maintenance plans meet budgets and timelines.
  • Support refurbishment, redevelopment and extension projects and coordinate stakeholders with Asset Management, Development, Finance and others.
  • Support Mileway’s sustainability ambitions across the portfolio, incorporating environmental considerations into decisions and plans.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, including property managers, agents, consultants, accountants and lawyers.
  • Maintain accurate property and leasing information in Mileway’s systems and contribute to data/reporting improvements.

Junior / Associate Asset Manager – Amsterdam

Are you commercially minded, ambitious and ready to take the next step in your real estate career? We are looking for a Junior / Associate Asset Manager to join our Asset Management team in Amsterdam.

Working alongside experienced Asset Managers, you will take ownership of a defined portfolio and help develop and implement strategies for a wider portfolio of last‑mile logistics properties. You will gain hands‑on experience across leasing, commercial management, financial analysis and business planning, while building relationships with occupiers and external partners.

What you’ll do
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of asset strategies and business plans for your portfolio.
  • Manage and support lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease surrenders and other commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiate commercial lease terms alongside senior colleagues and support the process of converting these terms into contractual agreements.
  • Build strong relationships with occupiers, developing an understanding of their businesses, property requirements and future plans.
  • Monitor the financial and operational performance of the portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve income, occupancy and long‑term asset value.
  • Track portfolio risks, identify potential warning signs and escalates material issues to senior colleagues.
  • Carry out market research and contribute relevant market intelligence to asset and leasing strategies.
  • Prepare financial analyses, property budgets, forecasts, reports and other materials used to support business decisions.
  • Support underwriting, business planning and portfolio performance analysis.
  • Lead or support the marketing of vacant units, including coordinating with leasing agents, reviewing proposals and attending property viewings.
  • Work with the Technical Property Management team to help ensure that capital expenditure projects and maintenance plans are delivered in line with agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Support refurbishment, redevelopment and extension projects and coordinate stakeholders where appropriate, working closely with colleagues in Asset Management, Development, Finance and other relevant teams.
  • Support the implementation of Mileway’s sustainability ambitions across the portfolio, ensuring that environmental considerations are incorporated into asset‑level decisions and business plans.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, including property managers, agents, consultants, accountants and lawyers.
  • Maintain accurate property and leasing information in Mileway’s systems and contribute to the continued improvement of portfolio data and reporting.
What you’ll bring
  • A university degree in real estate, finance, economics, business, law, engineering or another relevant commercial or technical discipline.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience within commercial real estate, asset management, investment, valuation, leasing, property management or a related field. Strong graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
  • An interest in last‑mile logistics and industrial real estate, together with the motivation to develop your knowledge of the market, our assets and our occupiers.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with financial and property‑related data.
  • A commercial mindset and an interest in identifying opportunities to improve asset performance and create value.
  • The ability and willingness to take responsibility for a portfolio of assets, while knowing when to seek support from senior colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage different priorities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to ask questions, contribute ideas and take ownership of your work.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with real estate systems or data platforms would be beneficial but is not essential.
