Job summary

Our client, a multinational Real Estate organization, seeks an Accountant to support growth at their European HQ in Amsterdam. You will report to the Management Accountant and join a large, international Finance team, gaining broad exposure to property accounting and financial reporting.

You’ll handle month-end close, statutory reporting, and collaborate with Property Management and Asset Management teams to enhance processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
• Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting environment; Real Estate experience or Audit (big4) is a big plus.
• Strong financial accounting and balance sheet experience, with experience in month-end and year-end closing.
• Experience with statutory financial reporting and knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP or German GAAP is an advantage.
• Strong Excel and IT skills; experience with ERP systems and/or Yardi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules as part of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Support the preparation of financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit deliverables and financial analyses.
• Assist with the accounting for property acquisitions, developments, asset enhancement initiatives, disposals and other property-related transactions.
• Work closely with the Shared Services Centre to ensure accurate cash, intercompany and AP/AR reconciliations.
• Contribute to improving finance processes, controls and reporting, while ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies.
• Work closely with the Management Accountant and wider Finance team, building relationships with stakeholders across Property Management and Asset Management and developing your expertise in property accounting.
