Job summary

Blue Phoenix is seeking a hands-on Global IT Infrastructure Engineer based in Rotterdam to design, deploy, and optimize our networking and server infrastructure across 50+ sites. You will lead in configuring LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, security, and cloud services while driving policy and documentation.

Expect regular international travel and a dynamic team culture. You will work with Aruba switches, Palo Alto firewalls, VMware ESXi, and Windows Server, delivering secure, scalable IT operations and projects

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in IT networking, infrastructure, and data centre operations.
• Hands-on experience with HPE Aruba networking equipment (switching, wireless).
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Solid knowledge of networking protocols like: BGP, OSPF, VLAN, RSTP, and QoS.
• Experience with VMware virtualisation environments and Windows Server administration.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and security optimisation practices.
• Experience integrating IT and network environments across multiple countries.
• Strong background in documentation and change management.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken.

• Manage and troubleshoot HPE Aruba switching and wireless environments across all sites.
• Daily operations and troubleshooting of network and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Implement, maintain, and optimise VMware ESX hosts and Windows Servers.
• Microsoft 365 security, email security, and endpoint security management.
• Maintenance, patching, and updating of network and infrastructure systems.
• Participate in infrastructure replacement, upgrade, and network refresh projects.
• Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation.
• Implement and maintain IT policies, standards, and procedures.
• Based in Rotterdam, with travel to 50+ sites globally averaging 5 to 8 days per month.

Blue Phoenix is looking for an all-round, hands‑on Global IT Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on networking, to manage and optimise our IT infrastructure across all countries we operate in. You will ensure our systems run smoothly, support global projects, and play a key role in shaping our IT and networking strategy.

This role reports to the Global IT Infrastructure and Security Manager and involves collaboration with international teams. Based in Rotterdam, you will travel to our 50+ sites globally on average 5 to 8 days per month, mainly within Europe, with occasional visits to Australia and the USA.
