Philips, Best, Netherlands, offers a 6-month Internship: AI & Automation (non-thesis) focused on strengthening the security control framework through AI and automated workflows. You will map data needs and develop a pilot-ready PoC, testing with stakeholders and delivering clear recommendations.
You are pursuing a Bachelor or Master in Data Science, AI, CS or Cybersecurity with experience in data analysis and rapid prototyping, comfortable with imperfect real-world data.

Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve the Philips security control framework and security-assessment processes through AI and automation.
Map assessment workflows, stakeholder needs, relevant data sources and practical constraints.
Prepare, structure and analyze real‑world security and control data.
Develop proof-of-concept AI‑assisted or automated assessment workflows and, where feasible, support their progression toward a pilot.
Define evaluation measures covering quality, reliability, false positives, false negatives, explainability and user trust.
Apply appropriate privacy, information‑security, traceability and human‑review requirements throughout the work.
Test prototypes with stakeholders, incorporate feedback and communicate findings through clear analyses, visualizations and decision‑ready recommendations.
Document the approach, limitations and recommended next steps so the work can be understood and continued by the team.
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
