The Ocean Cleanup in Rotterdam is seeking an Internal Communications Officer to translate strategy into clear messages for the crew. You will manage content across intranet, newsletters, and leadership announcements, ensuring timely, accurate information that aligns with our mission and brand.

Reporting to the Head of Communications Operations, you will plan internal events, track engagement, and collaborate with departments to reinforce a culture that informs, inspires, and connects every team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, or similar.
• 4-6 years' experience in internal communication in high-pressure environments.
• Able to set and manage priorities.
• Strong stakeholder management, organizational, and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilités

• Translate business and communications objectives into the right roadmap for internal communications.
• Partner with departments and leadership to ensure effective, consistent, and aligned internal messaging.
• Write and deliver clear, engaging communications across formats (newsletters, intranet, leadership announcements, updates).
• Prepare and run internal events such as All Hands meetings and townhalls.
• Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and connection.
• Track communication metrics and gather feedback via pulse surveys and engagement surveys.
• Support the employee experience based on feedback and ensure policies reflect crew needs.
• Collect and share employee stories and successes to foster a positive culture.
• Manage internal communications platforms (intranet, Teams, newsletters, signage).
• Evaluate and improve tools and processes to maximize reach and effectiveness.
