Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Amsterdam seeks a Business Consultant / Analyst for the Intelligent Grid Solutions practice. This role combines client-facing delivery with energy domain knowledge to translate requirements into actionable solutions.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, gather and document requirements, and support workshops, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory contexts. Strong Dutch fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Typically, 5+ years’ relevant experience within consulting, utilities, technology or a related environment.
• Experience working in or consulting the energy and utilities sector.
• Knowledge or practical experience in at least one of AMI, SMART Metering, SCADA, DMS, OMS or DERMS.
• Experience in business analysis, consulting, technology implementation, research or operational improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing professional reports and presentations.
• Comfortable engaging with client stakeholders and working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Support consulting and technology implementation projects across the Intelligent Grid Solutions practice verticals.
• Work with client stakeholders to understand business needs, operational processes and requirements.
• Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews and process reviews.
• Apply domain knowledge in AMI, SMART Metering, SCADA, DMS, OMS or DERMS to support client analysis and solution development.
• Analyze current business processes and support the definition of improved future-state processes.
• Produce clear client deliverables including requirements, process maps, analysis, presentations and recommendations.
• Support client workshops and meetings, capturing requirements, decisions, actions and areas for further analysis.
• Work with technical and solution teams to help translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Support testing and validation activities to confirm delivered solutions meet agreed business requirements.
• Undertake relevant market, regulatory, operational and technology research to support client assignments.
• Support Project Managers and senior consultants in delivery activities, risks, issues and project reporting.
• Build effective relationships across Customer Delivery, the practice verticals, clients and delivery partners.
• Contribute to proposals and business development activities through research, analysis and preparation of supporting material.
