Job summary

ONEXP, a boutique integrator of A/V and IT systems for superyachts, is seeking a Network Engineer in Rotterdam. You’ll build and support secure networks using Cisco, Fortinet, Wi‑Fi and routing hardware on onboard and remote projects.

You’ll design, deploy and maintain large Cisco core/edge networks, manage high-density wireless with 800+ APs, ensure redundancy and uptime, and collaborate with international teams across Spain, France, Germany and Turkey.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Cisco core, distribution and access switches in large environments.
• Strong knowledge of redundant topologies, VLANs and >40 Gb uplinks.
• Hands-on wireless controller management and troubleshooting expertise.
• Experience with PoE budgeting, high-density Wi‑Fi planning and centralised network management tools.
• Excellent analytical, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• English is excellent; Dutch language skills preferred.

• Ensure redundancy and failover for the network core using 80 Gb links.
• Manage and optimize large-scale wireless infrastructures with 800+ access points.
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues to guarantee uptime.
• Perform firmware updates, hardware replacements and documentation for all network components.
• Plan and execute network expansions and upgrades to support evolving needs.

ONEXP is a boutique integrator specializing in cutting-edge A/V & IT systems for superyachts. Over the years, we have completed over 200 projects worldwide, delivering seven-star experiences to owners and crews.

As a Network Engineer at ONEXP, you’ll build and support reliable, secure networks tailored to the unique demands of superyachts. Working with technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, storage solutions, Wi-Fi, and routing hardware, you will ensure onboard systems run smoothly both remotely and on-site. This role offers hands-on exposure and growth opportunities on international project and thus ideal for someone ready to take their career to sea and beyond.

You will take part in rather large scale IT Infrastructure projects that are built to bring our astonishing Audiovisual solutions to life.

Our projects involve:

• The design, deployment, and maintenance of the Cisco core, distribution, and access layer switches in a highly available topology.


• Ensuring redundancy and failover for the network core using 80 Gb links and best practices for critical infrastructure.


• Managing, configuring, and optimizing large-scale wireless infrastructures with 800+ access points, leveraging centralized controllers.


• Monitoring of network performance and proactively resolving of issues to guarantee uptime and user satisfaction.


• Performing firmware updates, hardware replacements, and documentation for all network components.


• Plan and execute network expansions and upgrades to support evolving needs.

Your background

• Proven experience with Cisco switches (core, distribution, and access) and wireless solutions in large environments.


• Strong understanding of redundant topologies, VLANs, and large uplink deployments (>40Gb).


• Hands-on expertise with wireless controller management and troubleshooting.


• Familiar with PoE budgeting, high-density Wi-Fi planning, and centralized network management tools.


• Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.


• Your English is excellent in writing and speaking. Preferably you speak Dutch.

About one third of the work we do is outside of the Netherlands. Frequent internal travel is required for this role whereby you will be abroad during some weekdays but back home in the weekend. Places we travel often to are in Spain, France, Germany and Turkey.
