Job summary

Midwich Benelux is seeking a Logistics Administrator in Ridderkerk to ensure efficient, cost-conscious handling of European shipments. You’ll link warehouse, sales, customers, and transport partners, maintaining an overview and ensuring on-time, correct shipping.

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Lead, you’ll collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Sales Support, and Warehouse. You’ll manage the end-to-end logistics process with a focus on accuracy, cost control, and steady communication

Qualifications

• MBO+ level of work and thinking, preferably with a focus on logistics or supply chain.
• Experience in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of logistics processes, transportation, and related documentation.
• Experience with WMS/TMS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, solution-oriented, and customer-focused.
• Proactive, able to handle stress, and maintain a clear overview in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Planning, booking, and handling the administrative aspects of domestic and international shipments.
• Selecting the appropriate carrier based on cost, delivery time, urgency, and shipment type.
• Preparing transportation, export, and customs documentation.
• Collecting and verifying shipment information, such as dimensions, weights, and quantities.
• Maintain daily contact with transportation partners, customers, and colleagues in Sales, Sales Support, and the Warehouse.
• Advise on transportation options, delivery times, and rates.
• Identify and resolve transportation issues, delays, and discrepancies, and determine the cause whenever possible.
• Verify that orders are correctly picked, packed, and picked up.
• Reviewing shipping invoices and identifying unnecessary or recurring costs.
• Monitoring carrier performance and proposing improvements in service, quality, and costs.
• Managing pallet inventory and ensuring effective coordination with external logistics partners.
• Identifying bottlenecks and actively contributing to the improvement of our logistics processes.
