Job summary

i3D.net, based in Rotterdam, seeks a Network Engineering Manager to lead a global team responsible for building, scaling, and operating one of the world’s most interconnected gaming and infrastructure networks. From our Rotterdam office, you’ll guide engineers across backbone, datacenter, automation, and monitoring projects, translating strategy into practical execution.

The role demands strong leadership, mentoring, and a deep understanding of BGP, EVPN‑VXLAN, and high‑performance networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in networking, IT, computer science, or related field.
• Significant network engineering experience in ISP, telecom, cloud, gaming infrastructure, or datacenter environments.
• Fluent English and strong leadership communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of network engineers across backbone, datacenter, automation, monitoring, and customer-facing projects.
• Mentor engineers with regular feedback, knowledge sharing, and development plans.
• Prioritize and deliver network upgrades, datacenter expansions, and automation improvements.
• Oversee day-to-day network operations, incidents, escalations, and customer-impacting issues.
• Translate technical strategy into practical execution with network architects and senior engineers.
• Use Kentik and Grafana to monitor traffic, capacity, and bottlenecks.
• Drive automation culture with workflow improvements and configuration management.
• Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, standards, and procedures.
• Support security practices including DDoS mitigation and traffic filtering.
• Collaborate with product teams, support, and other groups to meet customer requirements.
