Job summary

i3D.net in Rotterdam is seeking a Network Engineering Manager to lead a global team responsible for building and operating a highly interconnected gaming and infrastructure network. From the Rotterdam office, you will guide engineers across backbone, datacenter, and automation projects, emphasizing scalable, secure delivery.

You will manage priorities, mentor engineers, and partner with architects to translate strategy into execution, while using Kentik and Grafana for monitoring and capacity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in networking, IT, CS or related field.
• Significant experience in network engineering.
• Experience leading engineers or teams.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of network engineers across backbone, datacenter, automation, monitoring, and customer-facing projects.
• Mentor engineers and drive clear development plans.
• Prioritize and deliver network upgrades, datacenter expansions, automation improvements, and operational initiatives.
• Oversee day-to-day network operations, handling incidents with ownership and urgency.
• Translate technical strategy into actionable work with Architects and Senior Engineers.
• Ensure monitoring and capacity planning with Kentik and Grafana, and optimize resource usage.
• Drive automation in workflows, configuration management, and reliability.
• Keep network documentation, diagrams, standards, and procedures up to date.
• Support security practices including DDoS mitigation and traffic filtering.
• Collaborate with product, support, infra, architects, and other teams to align priorities.
• Assist in customer escalations with clear communication and ownership.
