Job summary

HMT is seeking an HSE Representative to support operations under the HSE Manager and collaborate with the operations team to advance safety goals. The role involves inspections, training, incident investigations, and risk assessments, with travel to the UK and occasional international travel.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in safety management or equivalent, IOSH/Nebosh certification, and fluent Dutch and English.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE and safety regulation knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document inspections and assessments.
  • Ensure work complies with HMT safety requirements and customer rules.
  • Coordinate safety training activities and safety meetings.
  • Assist in accident investigations and reporting.
  • Perform safety risk assessments and support JSA completion.
  • Lead or facilitate group discussions on safety practices.
  • Travel regularly within the UK and occasionally internationally.

Job description

Under the leadership of the HSE Manager, the HSE Representative will support operations in implementing HSE programs. They will work closely with the HSE Manager in partnering with the operations team to pursue our objectives, targets, and overall goal of reaching beyond zero.

The Job:
  • Conduct and document inspections and assessments.
  • Assure that all work is performed in compliance with HMT and customer requirements.
  • Assist operations in obtaining safety equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigations and reporting.
  • Coordinate, conduct or facilitate Health & Safety training activities and safety meetings.
  • Perform Accident/Near Miss Investigations and report findings to management.
  • Report and recommend corrective actions.
  • Counsel and advise all HMT employees and subcontractors in acceptable safety and training performance and practices.
  • Keep current Netherlands specific health and safety policies, procedures, and employee manuals.
  • Perform safety risk assessments and support JSA completion.
  • Identify and report unsafe acts or behaviors.
  • Capable of learning technical details about the companies’ products.
  • Support operations by conducting quality audits.
  • Create quality inspection and test plan documentation.
  • Available for regular travel within the United Kingdom and occasional international travel.
We are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management or Middle Management Safety - IOSH / Nebosh certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in Dutch and English language, spoken and written
  • Eligibility to work in EU
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of HSE
  • Safety Standards/ local laws and regulations knowledgeable
  • Able to work independently without supervision
  • Able to lead a group discussion
  • Focused and able to deliver on time
  • Must be a self-starter and committed individual.
