Job summary

bunq is seeking a Head of Trust & Transparency to own the legal infrastructure across multiple markets and regulate AI-enabled workflows. You will align legal strategy with execution, oversee a small team, and engage regulators directly to shape a scalable, compliant operating model.

You will drive AI-powered contract review and T&C management, ensuring proactive risk management and high-quality governance that supports bunq’s rapid growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a Master’s degree in Law and strong background in financial services.
• Independently run compliance or legal function across multiple jurisdictions, not just support one.
• Direct dialogue with regulators and ability to argue a legal position without a script.
• Managed a small specialist legal team, set KPIs, and held them to it.
• Translate regulatory risk into actionable decisions for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Be the layer between legal strategy and the team that executes it, translating priorities into clear ownership and ensuring only real decisions reach the Head of Legal.
• Lead bunq's AI tooling for contract review, T&C management, and regulatory monitoring at scale.
• Provide the business with a clear, honest picture of Trust & Transparency health across the pillar to catch risks early and maintain quality as the function scales.
