Job summary

Backbase is seeking an IT Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Manager to drive AI governance and regulatory compliance across our SaaS platform in Amsterdam. You will embed compliance into product design, work with Product, Engineering and Sales, and lead customer-facing trust conversations to balance risk with innovation.

You will shape an AI-native Compliance function, implement AI-supported controls, and manage risk assessments and monitoring while maintaining appropriate human oversight

Qualifications

• 8+ years implementing compliance programs internationally.
• Experience in AI governance frameworks is required.
• Strong regulatory and customer-facing advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage IT controls and compliance frameworks for an international organisation.
• Act as strategic compliance partner to Sales and to clients, guiding regulatory and AI governance discussions.
• Lead AI-native compliance initiatives, redesign workflows and automate evidence gathering.
• Coordinate third-party attestations and risk assessments.
• Integrate compliance into product roadmaps without slowing innovation.
