Job summary

NDA is modernising its data estate from Amsterdam, building a scalable platform to support analytics, AI, and business decision-making. You will lead a senior team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Platform Engineers to define a bold data engineering roadmap and drive cross-functional delivery.

As a senior leader, you will set engineering standards, oversee architecture decisions, and ensure reliability, security, and governance across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of data engineering teams on large-scale platform programs.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, public clouds).
• Strong data warehousing, modeling, ETL/ELT, orchestration.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical delivery plans.
• Experience with CI/CD, DataOps, testing and governance.
• Hands-on leadership while supporting technical teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management across Tech, Product, Analytics.
• Experience delivering migrations, consolidations, or greenfield builds.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and mentor a team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Platform Engineers
• Define and execute the data engineering roadmap with senior leadership
• Drive delivery across platform development, data migrations, and modernisation initiatives
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational excellence
• Oversee architecture decisions to ensure scalable, reliable data solutions
• Develop cloud-based data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and AI use cases
• Manage stakeholder relationships across technology, product, analytics, and business teams
• Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, incident management, and operational governance
• Support hiring, team development, and succession planning within the engineering function
• Champion best practices across Data Engineering, DataOps, and platform operations
