Job summary

ACT Group is seeking a Senior BI/Data Engineer to modernize and scale its enterprise Data Platform in Amsterdam. You will own data pipelines, data models and analytics solutions, combining hands-on engineering with technical ownership across data integration, modelling and platform architecture.

You will shape the platform roadmap, establish engineering standards, and focus on architecture, automation, performance, security and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data engineering, automation, or testing.
• Experience with modern data platforms and analytics tools (Power BI, semantic models).
• Knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes and lakehouse patterns.
• Experience with data modeling (relational and dimensional).
• Experience with CI/CD practices for data and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve key components of ACT’s Data Platform architecture and engineering standards.
• Design and implement integrations for new source systems and build reliable data pipelines.
• Design, implement and document enterprise data models (relational and dimensional).
• Develop, optimize and operate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Synapse and related tools.
• Plan and execute data migrations with validation, reconciliation, and data quality controls.
• Contribute to modernization of the Data Platform with Fabric, Databricks and other modern data tech.
• Develop and maintain trusted semantic models enabling scalable Power BI reporting and AI use cases.
