Job summary

Qualifications

Group Fulfilment Operations & Technology Manager

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid)

At GLS Group HQ in Amsterdam, we are looking for a competent Group Fulfilment Operations & Technology Manager to join our Group Expansion Businesses team.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Expansion Businesses, you will play a central role in one of GLS Group’s most important growth initiatives. You will support both the continuous development of existing fulfilment operations and the activation, implementation and scale-up of new fulfilment markets across Europe and North America.

This role sits at the intersection of operations, technology and business growth. You will help countries establish scalable fulfilment operations, improve existing businesses and build the common operational and digital foundations required for a larger Fulfilment Network.

This is a high-impact role for a structured, entrepreneurial and execution-oriented professional who combines hands-on fulfilment expertise with technology enablement and enjoys turning business plans into operational reality.

Your Impact

As Group Fulfilment Operations & Technology Manager, you will:

• Support new fulfilment market activations, working together with Country Fulfilment Managers to develop business cases, design operating models, prepare implementation plans and deliver successful go-lives.
• Design and standardize scalable fulfilment solutions across GLS markets, covering network optimization, fulfilment center setup and design, resource planning, operational processes and operational readiness.
• Support existing fulfilment operations and systems across the GLS network, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, stock accuracy, capacity utilization, technology adoption and operational performance.
• Lead fulfilment technology enablement across the GLS network, supporting WMS/OMS deployment, systems integration, technology standardization and AI-driven operational improvements, while developing further the common architecture required for scalable fulfilment networks.
• Conduct functional reviews across markets, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence, using data, benchmarks and proven methodologies to improve processes, productivity, service quality and scalability.
• Transfer know-how and best practices between markets, ensuring that lessons from established fulfilment operations and previous implementations are consistently applied to new activations and scale‑up initiatives.
• Act as a trusted partner to Country Managing Directors and Country Fulfilment Managers, while preserving local ownership and accountability for market execution and performance.
• Connect fulfilment and parcel operations, identifying opportunities to improve integration, customer value and synergies with the GLS last‑mile network.

What you bring

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in fulfilment, e‑commerce logistics, warehousing, supply chain management, operational management or a comparable environment.
• Strong fulfilment operations expertise and experience in operational transformation or continuous improvement, ideally across multiple sites, markets or business units.
• Experience implementing and scaling fulfilment technology platforms across multiple locations, including WMS/OMS deployment, systems integration and digital enablement.
• Proven project and implementation management skills, with the ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and markets.
• Strong analytical, commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to connect operational decisions to customer value, profitability and growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across functions, countries and cultures.
• Strong understanding of AI and digital technologies, with the ability to leverage them to improve decision‑making, scalability, productivity and innovation across fulfilment and logistics operations.
• A structured, pragmatic and hands‑on mindset, balancing standardization with common sense and practical local execution needs.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel 30–40% across Europe; additional European languages, PMP, Lean Six Sigma or similar certifications are an advantage.
