Job summary

Maersk in Rotterdam is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support our regional payroll operations, ensuring accurate on-cycle and off-cycle processing and regulatory compliance across borders.

You will manage pre-payroll, data extraction, approvals, and annual reconciliation, while driving efficiency, data quality and timely tax reporting within a global, diverse environment. Fluency in English is essential; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience in a complex international organization.
• Knowledge of local compliance and labour regulations for payroll & benefits.
• Fluency in English is essential; Dutch is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-payroll, on-cycle and off-cycle payroll processes.
• Extract payroll data and provide to payroll provider.
• Validate results and approve final pay credits.
• Annual payroll reconciliation and new payroll year preparation.
• Ensure timely social insurance tax payment and reporting.
• Manage advance payments and system configuration changes.
• Monitor payroll vendor SLAs and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with People Partners and audit teams for data and clarifications.
