We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

About the role - Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting payroll operations while helping ensure a positive employee experience and compliance with local regulations. Working with a matrixed group of stakeholders, you will contribute to the end-to-end payroll process, from data preparation and payroll validation to audit support and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, systems, and processes and who takes pride in accuracy and operational excellence. You will have the opportunity to support payroll transformation activities, participate in Time & Attendance projects, and help strengthen controls and compliance across payroll delivery.

  • Contribute to payroll transformation, process improvements, and system-related initiatives.
  • Develop your expertise through hands‑on involvement in payroll operations, compliance, audits, and controls.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across functions while supporting a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review payroll results, perform quality checks, and approve final payroll outputs using control reports.
  • Support annual payroll reconciliation activities and preparation for new payroll year processing.
  • Ensure timely social insurance tax payments and reporting in line with local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage advance payments and approved adjustments within payroll and time management systems.
  • Track vendor performance against payroll service level agreements and defined payroll metrics.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing payroll‑related data, documentation, and clarifications.
  • Manage the timely submission of RICC controls and support risk identification, mitigation, and tracking activities.
  • Participate in Time & Attendance projects, system upgrades, testing activities, documentation, and change communications.
  • Partner with People Partners to resolve employee and manager payroll‑related queries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll and Time & Attendance processes and elevate recommendations to process owners.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Experience working with Payroll and Time & Attendance processes.
  • Knowledge of local payroll, benefits, and employment‑related compliance requirements.
  • Strong systems, data, and process expertise within payroll operations; experience with ADP is considered an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work confidently with payroll data, reporting, and validation activities.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and evolving environment while taking ownership and delivering results with minimal supervision.
  • Structured and organized working style with a focus on meeting agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to support employee and manager queries effectively.
